Team Elicio joined the pack at this year's Corporate Cycling Challenge in Ostend, racing other companies across three disciplines: a team time trial, a team sprint, and a criterium.

We expected a friendly competition among fellow cycling enthusiasts and amateur riders. And if we're being honest, we also fancied our chances of bringing home the title on the streets of our home city.

We were in for a surprise. Some of the other participants looked less like colleagues on a team day out and more like Remco Evenepoel, Wout van Aert, Tadej Pogačar, or Julian Alaphilippe in disguise. But then again, we wouldn't be Elicio if we didn't give it our very best.

So we embraced the challenge the only way we know how: with enthusiasm, creativity, team spirit, and plenty of smiles. Okay, so our chances of a podium finish disappeared after the first few turns of the pedal. But even so, we stood out in another category. Team Elicio took home the award for "Most Sympathetic Fun Team." Hey, we'll take it.

Turns out we generated plenty of good energy, just not the kind that wins medals.

It was a fun reminder that success isn't always measured in watts or finishing times. Sometimes it's about showing up together, supporting one another, and enjoying the ride.

Congratulations to all participants, and thank you to the organisers for putting the wheels in motion.
