We officially inaugurated our new wind farm in Sambreville and Jemeppe-sur-Sambre, ten years after we broke ground.

Located along the E42, the wind farm consists of four Nordex N131 turbines: two in Sambreville and two in Jemeppe-sur-Sambre, reaching a tip height of 150 metres.

Together they bring 14.4 MW of new capacity and an estimated annual production of 32,400 MWh. That's enough green electricity for close to 9,300 households, while avoiding around 15,900 tonnes of CO₂ emissions every year.

The mayors of Sambreville and Jemeppe-sur-Sambre joined us in the celebrations, along with Minister François Desquesnes' attaché.

From the very first day until today, it has taken us ten years to bring this project to life. This clearly demonstrates our perseverance, our ability to adapt, and our commitment to finding solutions that make the project acceptable to all stakeholders. I am proud of our teams, who have shown resilience and patience throughout the development process. Their work is helping to build a sustainable future for Wallonia.

Today, Sambreville and Jemeppe-sur-Sambre were at the beating heart of the energy transition. Thank you to everyone who helped bring this project to life, and to everyone who came out to celebrate it with us.

A tangible step for renewable electricity in Wallonia, and for Europe's climate objectives.
